Dear Wildcat,

There is a quote that all members of the Wildcat Family have heard for years…. “Day one, grade nine”. These four words when put together speak volumes about the high school experience and how much the decisions you make today will influence your tomorrow. As you go through this book and decide on the courses you plan to take I encourage you to challenge yourself to your highest potential.

This is a time in your life to explore your areas of interest and set the course for your future. With the concept of career clusters’ taking on new meaning it is important that you think beyond one semester at a time. The time is now for you to connect the pieces of your academic puzzle.

I encourage you to talk to your parents, teachers and counselor about what classes you are thinking about taking. Most of you have also taken several self-inventory tests that have helped you identify your areas of strength and interest. Use the “data” you collect through conversations and past experiences to select the courses that best fit your needs.

As you go through the high school experience please remember that selecting a good schedule is just the beginning. It will take some hard work, a lot of studying and a willingness to stretch your knowledge level to reach your goals.

Wildcat Proud!
