2021-2022 Teachers of the Year Announced

Each year, USD #416 selects an Elementary and Secondary Teacher of the Year.

This year, Kendal Norberg, 4th Grade Teacher at Broadmoor Elementary, was selected as the Elementary Teacher of the Year!

This year's Elementary Teacher of the Year is Mrs. Kendal Norberg! Mrs. Norberg is a fourth grade teacher at Broadmoor Elementary School. Previously, she has taught STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and third grade at BES. Mrs. Norberg was chosen by her colleagues because of the passion they see each and every day in her classroom. She loves inspiring students and supporting them throughout their learning journey. Norberg also serves as a representative for her colleagues in the Louisburg Education Association. You can even find her training staff from the surrounding eight school districts served by the East Central Kansas Special Education Cooperative on Crisis Prevention Institute. She continually strives to improve her own learning by attending professional development workshops, training and recently completed her Masters in Education. Mrs. Norberg brings so much of herself each day to the students and staff of Broadmoor Elementary and we could not be more proud of and excited for her! She is truly deserving of this honor.

The Secondary Teacher of the Year is Ms. Kassy Miller, Spanish Instructor at Louisburg Middle School.

The secondary teacher of the year is Ms. Kassy Miller, Spanish teacher at Louisburg Middle School.  Kassy is a rock star educator in her 10th year of teaching at LMS!  In her tenure, Kassy has worked to develop curriculum spanning grades 6-12 and was instrumental in the development of language certification and CTE pathway development for students she sent to the high school.  Ms. Miller is a popular, engaging, caring, and talented educator.  She is a team player and has served our school - and district - in multiple capacities!  From coordinating and supporting English Language Learners (ELL) at the middle school, to supporting the Louisburg Dance program, Kassy has proven, time and time again, her passion for working with children and supporting our schools in countless ways.  She is a deserving recipient of this honor and all of us at LMS count ourselves blessed to work with Kassy Miller!  Her abilities to connect with children, deliver quality instruction and challenging curriculum, bring technology and fun to the classroom are unmatched!  Congratulations, Kassy!
