April 2021 Superintendent Letter
Dear USD #416 Wildcat Family,
I hope everyone enjoyed their Spring Break! I also hope the 4th Quarter of learning is going well for all students across the district! The 4th Quarter always flies by and we will be at the end of school before we know it. As a reminder, the school district does not have school on Wednesday, April 14th.
You have probably seen some construction crews working around our schools during the month of March. We are putting a new roof on the middle school and high school. We will also be putting a new roof on the north portion of Circle Grove when they complete LHS and LMS. Later this summer, we will be replacing the roof at Broadmoor Elementary Schools. This summer, the construction crews will begin work on Circle Grove and the high wind shelter at LMS. We will be moving our preschool into Broadmoor during the 1st semester next year as they renovate the preschool area of Circle Grove. If all goes as planned, preschool will move back out to Circle Grove in January, 2022. The high wind shelter at LMS will also serve as new science classrooms. Our science classrooms have always been too small at LMS to effectively teach the science curriculum. This new addition will keep our staff and students safe while providing a new and exciting area to teach and learn about science. Other bond projects you will see taking place this summer include a new parking lot at LMS and RES. As with any renovation projects, we ask for your patience through the construction phases. We are excited to see what the new areas will look like when the construction is finished!
Outside of the bond issue, there are many other projects that will be taking place across the district. One that I am most excited about is the new playground at Rockville! The new playground and play area will be an awesome area for all students and community members to play! This project should be completed by the beginning of school in August.
