March 2021 Superintendent Letter
Dear USD #416 Wildcat Family,
Let’s hope the cold days that we experienced in February are behind us for a very long time! As was evident with the Kansas weather in February, our temperatures changed almost 100 degrees in one week! I think we all will be looking forward to the warmer Spring weather that is around the corner.
Speaking of Spring, Spring Break will be here soon. Students do not have school on Friday, March 12th, the week of March 15th and Monday, March 22nd. Whether you are staying home or traveling, I wish each student and family a relaxing and enjoyable break. I know our staff deserves a big break from what they have done for each of our students this year as well. We will anxiously welcome our students back on March 23rd as we prepare for the final quarter of learning. The end of the school year will be here sooner than we know!
Our district plans to offer the FREE summer meal program this upcoming summer. It will once again be at Broadmoor Elementary. This program is free to every child, just not families on free and reduced lunch. The children also don’t have to be USD #416 students. The meals are for any child, ages 0-18. Please plan on having someone come by BES in the summer and get the free food for your children. The more kids we serve, the better!
On Sunday, March 28th, two of our finest Wildcats, Jarrod Worthington and Tracy McCombs, will be recognized at the Region III Kansas Teacher of the Year Banquet. These two teachers aren’t just awesome teachers, but they are also Louisburg High School Graduates! Best of luck to Tracy and Jarrod as they represent our school district and community.
