February 2021

Dear USD #416 Wildcat Family,

Our 2nd semester has started off as well as our 1st semester ended!  We continue to have positive COVID-19 cases and a few quarantines, but our staff, students and families are working well together to navigate the school year during the pandemic.  We appreciate everyone’s support and patience during these difficult times.  I am thrilled that we continue to be in school!  I know there are differences out there about a few things, but we are all united in the fact that Louisburg has been in school all year…..that is definitely something to brag about!

There will be two days in February that we do not have school.  On Wednesday, February 10th, we will have parent-teacher conferences from 8 am to 4 pm.  There will be information from each school regarding these conferences.  If you are unable to attend a conference on the 10th, but would like to speak with a teacher, please contact the teacher or your child’s school.  We also will not be in session on Monday, February 15th as we honor Presidents’ Day.

Enrollment for next year is right around the corner.  You will be getting information from the schools regarding this process as well.  Please sit down, especially with your middle school and high school children, and go through the course selection process with them.  For a school district our size, we offer a lot of courses for each student.  We want each child to be adequately prepared when they graduate a Louisburg Wildcat.  Your help in this educational journey is important for the success of each student.

We continue to have some pre-construction meetings with our early bond projects.  The goal is still to begin work on Circle Grove and the high wind shelter as soon as possible.  We will continue to provide updates as we get closer to design and construction.  It will probably be mid-summer before anything begins to materialize with these two projects.  Once we get rolling with projects, you should see continued work across the district until the projects are completely finished.

Go Wildcats!!
