September 2020
Dear USD #416 Wildcat Family,
“We’re All In This Together” is the district’s theme for our school district for 2020-2021 school year. Probably, more than ever, this theme resonates loud and clear. We have appreciated your support during our start of the school year. We have been focused on our goal of getting students and staff back in the classroom. I am proud of what the first of the school year has looked like so far. Yes, there have been bumps in the road, but students and staff are excited to be back in school! I am extremely proud of our staff. Our staff have done remarkable things to be ready for this school year. They are also ready to be flexible as the year progresses. Having school during a pandemic is something none of us have ever experienced. With your help and support, we can make it through this with the “all in this together” attitude and commitment.
As we progress through this first semester, please communicate with your child’s teacher or principal if you notice any academic issues. We do have parent-teacher conferences in October, but we would like to be more proactive in working together if you notice an issue. We strive to provide current and ongoing information from each school so you know what is taking place on a week-to-week basis at each school. If you are not receiving any correspondence from the school, please contact the school so they can make sure they have the correct contact information for you and your family.
At the August Board of Education meeting, the board approved a new bond referendum for November 3, 2020. The board reduced the bond issue from $34.5 million down to $24 million. The bond issue will also be a one ballot question. We are working on getting our website updated and will provide the bond information on our bond tab by the middle of September. The proposed bond issue will provide many safety, efficiencies and capital improvements to the district. As always, if you have any questions regarding the bond issue, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Go Wildcats!!
