February 2020 Superintendent Newsletter
Dear USD #416 Wildcat Family,
It is my sincere hope that our students and families have had a positive start to the second semester of the school year! I know the weather can disrupt our momentum at times. I hope we can enjoy a mild February so we can continue with normal school hours and keep everyone safe. As a reminder, we do not have school on Monday, February 17th, as we observe Presidents’ Day.
I wanted to call your attention to a new tab we have placed on our website. The new tab is entitled, “Bond 2020”. The tab has a lot of information regarding the April 7, 2020 bond election. I would ask that you review the documents provided on the website. I also ask that you continue to check back as we will add more information and updates as the election day draws nearer. We will be adding a video in the upcoming weeks, as well as let you know when we will be holding a public information night regarding the bond. This evening will probably be after Spring Break. As you will see, many of the bond projects are facility improvements and enhancements for the entire school district.
At the middle and high school level, we will begin the 2020-2021 school enrollment process soon. You should be receiving information regarding enrollment from the middle school and high school. I encourage you to sit down with your child and walk through the enrollment process with them. Review the course description guides and all the different courses our schools can offer. We want each child to have a meaningful educational path as they travel through our school district. Each year, our buildings strive to add new classes to the potential offerings at each school that will be a high interest and benefit to students. If you have any questions about classes, or the enrollment process, please contact the school for further assistance and clarification.
