December 2019

Dear USD #416 Wildcat Family,

With the Thanksgiving Holiday being later this year, we return for a shorter amount of time between Thanksgiving and our upcoming winter break.  We only have 14.5 days of school before December 20th.  Between now and the next break, I know we have many school activities, programs and other fun-filled events.  Please watch for all of the events on your child’s school’s announcements or calendar.  It is a very busy time of year and we want to make sure you can attend every upcoming event possible.

Winter Break will be from December 21st through January 5th.  The 2nd semester will begin on Monday, January 6, 2020.  I hope each student and family has some time to unwind and enjoy time together before we jump back in the swing of things on January 6th

As with every winter in Kansas, we know we will have some inclement weather days we will face.  We strive to do our best to make the best decision with the information we have when weather comes our way.  Kansas weather can be some of the trickiest weather to predict as it seems to change all the time.  We communicate with our maintenance and transportation department, watch weather forecast and have multiple conference calls with area school districts.  We have placed our inclement weather procedures on our website.  If there is a day that school is still in session, and you believe it to be unsafe for your school to drive or attend school, please contact the school and let the school know your child will not be in school.

I wish every student a productive ending to the 1st semester.  It always seems to go by fast.  Before we know it, we will be wishing every student a wonderful 2020 summer!  Enjoy the Holiday Season!  Thanks for partnering with our school district on this wonderful journey in raising our young children.  Together, we are making an awesome difference in each child’s life as we prepare them for the future that will soon be theirs!

Go Wildcats!!
