November 2019 Superintendent Newsletter
Dear USD #416 Wildcat Family,
In March, a common phrase we hear is that it “comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb.” Well, I would say we just witnessed the opposite for the end of October and the first of November! The last few days of October went out like a lion! I hope we can have some “lamb” days still in November before the Kansas winter sets in. I have heard, according to the Farmer’s Almanac, this winter is going to be a doozy. We always want to keep our students safe. As inclement weather approaches, we will put all of our efforts into making the best decision for school and student safety. If there is ever a day you feel it is unsafe for your child to drive or travel to school, please feel free to make that decision and keep your child home. As you know, Kansas weather is so tricky and predicting what will occur on any given day is almost impossible.
November is a fun month that I always look forward to each year. On November 11th, our school district and community get to show our respect and appreciation for the men and women that protect our freedom. At 10 am, please join us in the LHS Gym for our Annual Veterans Program. If you have attended, you know how special this event is for our Veterans. On November 21st, we will hold our Annual Thanksgiving Luncheon for the Senior Citizens of our community. If you know of anyone that would like to attend, please make sure to contact LHS so we can plan accordingly. Both of these events allow our schools and students to give back to our community and say “THANK YOU” to very important patrons.
As a School District, we will also celebrate “American Education Week” in November. Beginning on November 18th, we will celebrate and promote education in our school district! As always, we appreciate the continued support we receive from our community. We know we would not be able to do our job without the Louisburg community’s support.
We close the month of November with Thanksgiving Break. We will not have school on November 27th, 28th or 29th. I hope you are able to have some relaxing family time with your families during this short holiday break!
