April 2019 Superintendent Newsletter
Dear USD #416 Wildcat Family,
Well, I do believe we have finally made it through winter! It was one of the craziest winters I can ever remember! I know Kansas can provide the type of weather we experienced, but what made this one ‘extra special’ was how long the crazy weather lasted! Folks in Kansas mention the 1993 flood….I think we will talk about the 2019 winter for a while as well! I am hoping April brings us a great deal of nice weather days with plenty of sunshine!
The football field and track facility is starting to take shape. The weather sure has not helped with the construction, but we are starting to see a finished product around the stadium complex! This new complex will be a safe place for all students to perform and play on for many years to come. It will be quite a night in the Fall when we play our first football game under the lights on the new field!
As we enter 4th Quarter, I remind students and parents how fast the last quarter will come to an end. I know the excitement will build as we draw closer to May, but we have a lot of learning still to take place before May 22nd! Please continue to support your child in his/her studies. Please communicate any issue you may see with your child’s teacher and/or administration. In April, we already begin to look to next year with Kindergarten Screenings for next year’s new Kindergarten class. We also have been working hard at our middle and high school enrollment. All of this takes place as we support our soon-to-be graduating seniors with their last steps in the K-12 journey in our district.
I appreciate each of you and the support you provide our school district. We know we could not do our important job of educating each child without the healthy and supportive relationship we have with each family in our community.
