December 2018 Superintendent Newsletter
Dear USD #416 Wildcat Family,
If you like winter, the November snowstorms should have gotten you in the mood! I think we had more snow in November than we have had all winter long for the past few years! We will see if Mother Nature is trying to tell us if we are in for a brutal winter! As always, I strive to make the best decision possible regarding school closings and student safety. There are many factors and decisions that go into the decision to call off school. Your support is much appreciated as I strive to make the best decision for school and student safety.
December will fly by with all the events that can be found across the district during this short month of school. Please check your child’s school calendar, or review the daily announcements to keep informed about the upcoming events at each school. I know the eye on the target will be Friday, December 21st. It is important that we keep the focus on learning until the final day. Your support and encouragement with this learning aspect is vitally important. Winter Break will be from Friday, December 21st through Friday, January 4th. Second semester will begin on Monday, January 7, 2019!
As I reflect on the first semester, I am extremely proud of another great semester in our school district. Our students continue to perform at a high level, in and out of the classroom. Our teachers and support continue to exceed expectations in providing a quality learning environment for each student. Our parental support is outstanding throughout the year! Our community is always ready to rally around our school district as well. It is for all of these reasons that I find myself very thankful during this Holiday Season! I wish you and your loved ones the very best!
