October 2018

Dear USD #416 Wildcat Family,

It is hard to believe that the first quarter of school is almost completed!  As you are probably aware, parent-teacher conferences are coming up soon.  Conferences will be held at the different schools on October 10th and 11th.  Please make sure you have the designated times from each school by contacting your child’s school or reviewing their calendar and announcements.  If you are unable to attend, or unable to visit with all of the teachers, please contact your child’s teacher to set up another mutual opportunity to conference.  We do not have school on October 11th, 12th and 15th.  Second quarter resumes on Tuesday, October 16th.  The second quarter will go by quickly with all the different activities and holidays throughout the next few months.

As a school district, we are striving to be pro-active with parent communication.  As you know, each Sunday, you receive a principal message from each school.  We also are trying to showcase student activities and learning on Twitter and Facebook.  Our teachers are able to communicate with Skyward messages.  We also have teacher calendars and webpages.  You are encouraged to log on to Skyward and check your child’s academic progress as well.  We want to make sure our parents have the communication they need to help support their child’s academics when they are at home.  I know our lives can be hectic so the more information we can provide you, the better!  If you don’t feel like you are be provided the communication you need, please contact the school to discuss how we may improve.

I have enjoyed my visits to the classrooms and schools this year.  On each visit, I am amazed by the wonderful teaching and learning taking place by the students and teachers of our districts.  Our teachers are working hard to provide a well-rounded educational experience for each child.  The students are engaged in the overall learning process as well.  It is during these classroom visits that illustrate whey our community is a great place to live and grow our families.  We appreciate you sharing your children with our school district!

Go Wildcats!
