USD #416 Announces 2018-2019 Teachers of the Year!
Megan Harris, 1st Grade Teacher at Rockville Elementary, was selected as the 2018-2019 Elementary Teacher of the Year! Mrs. Harris has been teaching in Louisburg for 11 years. Mrs. Harris was nominated by her teaching peers because she continues to make a difference in lives of children in and outside of the school setting. Mrs. Harris individualizes curriculum, builds relationships with students and parents, implements technology in her instruction, as well as mentoring other teachers with technology. Mrs. Harris is also involved in the school and local community.
John Cisetti, Director of Bands for 5th through 12th Grade, was selected as the 2018-2019 Secondary Teacher of the Year! Mr. Cisetti will begin his 40th year of teaching next year, all in Louisburg! Mr. Cisetti was nominated my his teaching peers because of his excellent work to build a national caliber band program. Through this work, Mr. Cisetti always stresses positive patriotism to his band students. This requires his students to perform at a high level while being a good citizen. He expects his students to use their musical gifts to serve, support and lift up the Louisburg community.
Mrs. Harris and Mr. Cisetti will now compete against other district teachers of the year in a regional competition to be held next Fall. The district wishes both of these excellent teachers the very best and appreciates their years of service to their profession and kids!
