March 2018 Superintendent Newsletter
Dear USD #416 Wildcat Family, As I write my March newsletter, I hope the inclement weather days are behind us. I know we have experienced some crazy Kansas weather days this school year. I guess the groundhog was correct in predicting six more weeks of winter this year! I was sure hoping he wasn’t correct this year!
March brings us to the half way mark of the 2nd semester. We do not have school on Friday, March 16th. Spring Break is the following week. I hope this break is a time that each student can have some rest and relaxation. We will resume school on Monday, March 26th . 4 th quarter is always a difficult one to keep focus as the kids seen the end is near! I encourage you to help support your student’s academic progress until the end of May. As always, if you have concerns about your child’s progress, please contact your child’s teacher and principal.
We will also begin our annual state assessments soon. We ask that you encourage your children to perform their very best. Your support of providing positive encouragement, a good night sleep and a healthy breakfast go a long way in helping them perform their very best! We continually do well on these annual tests because of our strong home-school connection we have in supporting each student in our school district. We will soon begin construction projects around the district. These projects will go from March until the 1st of August. Some of the projects may cause some disruptions to parking and traffic patterns, especially around the Broadmoor Campus. We ask that you work with us through the construction projects. We feel, that once completed, our new improvements will be a great addition to our school district and community!
