January 2018 Superintendent Newsletter
Dear USD #416 Wildcat Family,
I hope this letter finds each of our students and families ready for a GREAT 2nd semester! I also hope the winter break was rejuvenating and relaxing. As we gear up for the 2nd semester, I encourage each student to think of some New Year’s Resolutions as they pertain to school. Will you study more? Will you try a new school activity? Will you work on attendance or behavior? Will you try to reach out to a fellow classmate in need? Whatever you decide to do, I encourage each student to strive to make a positive difference in our schools each day they attend! By doing so, it will continue to help our schools be GREAT!
The 2018-2019 school calendar was approved at the December 11, 2017 board of education meeting. A link to the calendar can be found on our webpage. We like to get this calendar out as quick as possible so families can begin planning for their busy lives. Regarding this year’s calendar, school will not be in session on Monday, January 15, 2017, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
We look forward to seeing all the students on Thursday, January 4th! We continue to welcome your positive partnership as we begin the 2nd semester journey. As a reminder, we do not have 2nd semester parent-teacher conferences. If you need to visit with your child’s teacher, please contact them to set up a meeting. We want to be pro-active regarding any concerns that may develop during the year. Please do not wait to contact a teacher or the office if you notice a concern that needs to be addressed.
Thanks for all your support throughout they year! We are fortunate to live in a community that supports our school and staff throughout the school year!
Happy New Year!!
