May 2017 Superintendent Newsletter
May 1, 2017
Dear USD #416 Wildcat Family,
Can you believe it? It is May and the school year is almost finished. We appreciate your continued support during the educational journey of each child. I know many students have their eyes on May 24th. As I have stated before, please help us keep the focus on academics until the end of the semester.
The 17.5 days of school in May will be packed full of activities. From field days to concerts to field trips to graduation, there will be many activities. Please review the school calendars, or call the office, so you know when each event will occur. We don’t want you to miss out on any event you would like to support.
During the summer months, we will be busy with different projects. Some of the biggest projects include buying our bus fleet and moving the buses onto our property, constructing a new greenhouse for the high school, and many other facility improvements across the district. We strive to keep our facilities up-to-date. The community’s support is greatly appreciated.
The 2017-2018 calendar is posted on the website, under calendars. There will be a lot of communication as we gear up for the 2017-2018 school year. Several key dates to circle include: August 3rd – Enrollment at LHS, August 16th – 1 st day for 6th and 9th Graders, August 17th – 1 st day for 1st through 12th Grade, August 18th – 1 st day for Kindergarten and August 21st – First day for Preschool. I wish each student and family an enjoyable and safe summer! Thanks for supporting the Wildcat Nation! Go Wildcats!
