February 2017 Superintendent Newsletter
February 1, 2017
Dear USD #416 Wildcat Family,
I hope each student is off to a great 2nd semester and is doing well. In the event that you have noticed your child struggling, or you have any concerns, please contact your child’s teacher and/or the principal. We want to work together and support the concerns. The earlier a plan is put in place, the better. We do not have spring parent-teacher conferences so individual conferences are welcomed during the 2nd semester. We appreciate your continued partnership as we work together to help develop each child in our district.
As we have witnessed, our Kansas weather can be very unpredictable. It takes the correct amount of moisture, temperatures, etc. to make a weather event occur. I know the weather forecasters strive to do their very best to give us the best information possible. The district strives to stay up-to-date on any new weather forecasts. We want each student and family to be safe to and from school. As we continue through February, we know there will be more winter weather we are faced with. I strive to make a sound decision based off the safety of our staff, students and families. Our inclement weather procedures can be found on the front page of the website. Once a decision is made, we will communicate with families as quick as possible so alternative arrangements can be secured for young children.
As a reminder, in observance of Presidents’ Day, there will be no school on Monday, February 20th. Also, if you have not taken a look at next year’s calendar, it was approved in December is on our website as well. We want each family to know our school schedule as quick as we can so future planning can be made. With our busy lives, you can never seem to plan quick enough!
Once again, my very best to each student in 2017! I hope they have a great 2nd semester!
