September 2016 Superintendent Newsletter
September 1, 2016
Dear USD #416 Wildcat Family,
It is my sincere hope that each student and family has enjoyed a positive start to the 2016- 2017 school year. I know there are always going to be ‘bumps in the road’, but my hope is that it has been a positive and productive start to another school year.
As we get into the heart of the 1st quarter, feel free to contact your child’s teacher, or building administrator, if you notice any concerns. Although we have parent-teacher conferences in the middle of October, I would encourage you not to wait until then if you feel like something needs to be addressed. As I have stated many times, as your child’s first teacher, parents know their kids. We welcome this positive partnership as we journey through this school year.
During the month of September, many school activities will begin. I encourage you to have your children involved in some school activity. Being involved is important for many reasons. Research indicates an involved student at school is more likely to be successful. I challenge each student to find their niche and make a positive impact on that school organization or team. I always enjoy watching and supporting our students in the various activities!
As I met with all staff before school started, I told them about how school is about a journey. Each staff member, parent, student and community member play an important part along this journey. Just like in life, we don’t know exactly where our journey will take us. We know there will be good times, as well as difficult times, along the educational journey. With the support of all internal and external stakeholders, we can support all students during their individual journeys! Thanks for partnering with us along the Wildcat Journey!
