Louisburg Band and Choirs Earn Top Scores at State
The Louisburg High School Concert Band, the LHS Concert Choir, and the LHS Select Choir earned first division ratings at the State Music Festival on Wednesday, April 13.
The annual festival was held at Osage City High School and included many choirs and bands from area high schools. At the State Festival, each group’s performance is evaluated by a panel of three judges whose scores are combined for the final rating. Scores are reported on a five-point scale, “one” is highest.
Louisburg sent over 200 students to the festival, a figure that represents more than 40% of the student body. Joining the students were Choir Director Alison Moore, Band Directors John Cisetti and Nathan Haefele, and Accompanist Melody Richardson. A number of Louisburg parents and supporters were also on hand to help the students at the event.
