March 2016

Dear USD #416 Wildcat Family,

We are close to reaching the 75% mark of the completion of the 2015-2016 school year. I hope our students have found the second semester to be a positive learning experience. I know the students and staff are all looking forward to the upcoming spring break! As a reminder, we will not have school on Friday, March 11th. Spring Break will be March 14th through March 18th. After Spring Break, we have roughly 48 days of school left before summer break! As we all know, that time will fly by as well! I hope each student, staff, and family is able to relax during Spring Break! Whether your family is staying home, or getting out of town, I wish each of you a safe and relaxing break! Our staff, students, and parents work hard to academically prepare each of our students, so the upcoming break is much deserved and appreciated!

We are beginning the enrollment process for next year. Many of you have received enrollment information regarding next year. I know our high school and middle school are currently working through this process. Also, we are currently having preschool enrollment. We will continue to update enrollment information on our website as next year gets closer. If you have any questions about next year’s enrollment, feel free to contact your child’s school. The district enrollment day will be August, 4, 2016, at Louisburg High School.

I know this time of year is when students begin to take state assessments. I encourage parents to provide the needed encouragement to your children. State assessments are a requirement, but will never define our education system or an individual child. We ask that each child do their very best, but know an education in USD #416 is much more than a single test score. We are proud of our results, and know our students will continue to do well on the yearly assessments. Your encouragement to your child, as well as providing a good night sleep and hearty breakfast is appreciated. Each school will let students and families know when the assessments will be taking place.

All my best!
