January 2016 Superintendent Newsletter
Dear USD #416 Wildcat Family,
I sincerely hope each of our students and families had a wonderful holiday break! If your family is anything like my family and extended family, the holiday season is a great time of year….but also seems to be full of some stress! Whatever you did over the break, I hope it was a wonderful time and that each student is geared up and ready to go for the second semester!
As I said last month, students are always able to ‘start over’ when a new semester begins each school term. I hope each student has set a new personal goal that they can work on achieving during the second semester. Maybe it is studying a little more before going to bed. Maybe it is helping out more around the house. Maybe it is making amends with a classmate that the relationship has went south. Whatever the “New Year’s Resolution” may be, I hope it provides each student something to strive to attain as we begin Round #2 of the school year!
The 2016-2017 school calendar was approved at the December 14th board meeting. It can be found on our website, under the calendar link. We wanted to get the calendar out to you as quick as possible so you could have it for any planning purposes your family may need going into next school year. The calendar mirrors many dates this year, but there are a few differences. Please note the different time for parent-teacher conferences, our Winter Break, and when Spring Break is in March 2017. Our Spring Break is the same time as the Kansas Board of Regents Universities (KU, KSU, etc.).
As we head into the second semester, I wish nothing but the best for our young Wildcats! Thanks for supporting our schools and making Louisburg a great place to call home!
All my best!
