December 2015 Superintendent Newsletter

Dear USD #416 Wildcat Family,

We are coming up on the half way point of our school year! I know it seems hard to believe that Winter Break is almost upon us. I wish a happy and productive end to the 1st semester to all staff and students. I know there are many Holiday concerts and sporting events leading up to December 18th (our last day of the 1st semester). Also, students, especially at LHS, will be studying hard for their semester finals. After the hustle and bustle of the first semester is over, I hope our students are able to relax for a few weeks and enjoy their time away from their studies. The Holiday Season is most memorable and fun when spent with family and friends. I know my family and extended family look forward to seeing each other and getting caught up with each other’s life stories. It seems like there is never enough time to just hang out with the family. Wherever your Holiday Season takes you and your family, I wish your family much happiness and love during this magical season. Our second semester of school begins on Tuesday, January 5th.

In a school setting, students are always given a second opportunity when the second semester rolls around. Maybe a student struggled in a certain class…..maybe there was a behavior issue…..maybe a student didn’t get off on the right foot first semester. Whatever the case may be, second semester allows students to wipe the slate clean and set new goals and aspirations for a successful second semester. I hope all students have thought about a few ways to make their second semester a successful and productive learning experience.

I appreciate the community support given to our schools and families, especially during this time of year. From Coats to Folks to the Salvation Army Bell Ringing at Price Chopper, our community makes sure that all families and kids have a special Holiday Season!

From our school district family to your family………Happy Holidays!
