Kansas Career Navigator http://kscareernav.gov/ has enhanced their site to highlight secondary information and make connections to postsecondary programs. This web site is intended to offer all Kansans access to public state regional information to aid in the selection of education and training programs, access to workforce training providers and labor market information. When accessing the main page, there are two links, one for “Occupation & College Programs” which is more career oriented and a “High School Career Pathways” (CTE) that identifies opportunities in each county and makes the connection to college programs in the area. All of the content areas connect to one another, so once a student identifies a pathway and a program, it also connects to related occupations in Kansas. |
The site is currently in Phase II, which focuses on high school pathways and connecting them to postsecondary programs, careers, labor outlook, county information and income information. The current career lists highlight the top 10 occupations in each area that meet high wage/high demand criteria set by the Department of Labor, but is expanding to include many more occupations that are also in demand. The web site is a collaborative project between KSDE, Department of Labor, Department of Commerce and KBOR, in an attempt to house all related public data in one online location. Please feel free to look around the site. http://kscareernav.gov/ |
There is a change to how students access AR through Clever, they used to see a link named Accelerated Reader but it has been replaced with one named Renaissance Learning and clicking on that link will automatically log them in and then they just need to click the Accelerated Reader link and choose a teacher. |
