Training Opportunitity...

Dear Potential/Interested Teacher:

We invite you to apply for Kansas State University’s Master of Arts in Teaching program.

Now beginning its third year, the 100% online, 12-month MAT provides interested adults the opportunity to earn a master’s degree and recommendation for K-6 teaching license from the convenience of the communities and schools in which they live and work.
In addition, the program provides several opportunities to ease the financial burden often associated with graduate school:
  • Global Campus Scholarship.   ALL MAT students are eligible to apply.  This provides $1,000.00 in scholarship funding for the summer, fall, and spring semesters ($3,000.00 total).  This is a needs-based scholarship but many of our current MAT students hold Global Campus Scholarships.  Application deadline is April 1.  Go to: http://global.k-state.edu/students/scholarships/
  • Kansas Transitions to Teaching Fellowships (KTTT).  MAT students who are willing to teach in KCK, Topeka, Wichita, or western Kansas are eligible to apply for the KTTT.  This provides $6,000.00 in tuition funding and a $750.00 technology stipend ($6,750.00 total).  Admitted students will be provided application information.  Last year, 40 students applied and 39 were provided fellowships.  We will continue to award fellowships until the funding is exhausted so the sooner you apply, the better.
  • Most of these programs require you to complete the FAFSA.  To start your FAFSA, go to: https://fafsa.ed.gov
Priority deadline for Global Campus Scholarships is April 1.  However, we will continue to review applications and other scholarship materials for Cohort 3 that begins May 14, 2018 throughout April.
I will conduct an interactive Zoom meeting on Tuesday, March 13 at 7:00 pm to answer questions.  To attend, go to: https://ksu.zoom.us/j/163518213
Feel free to email or call my cell phone if you have any questions.
