September 2017 Superintendent Newsletter
September 1, 2017
Dear USD #416 Wildcat Family,
I sincerely hope each student and family has had a GREAT start to the 2017-2018 school year! As a parent, I know the stress of getting back into the school routines! I appreciate your ongoing support as we strive to make a positive difference with each child.
As we begin our learning adventure through the 1st quarter, I encourage you to keep in communication with your child’s teacher if you have a concern. We strive to keep communication ongoing through Skyward, web calendars and google classroom. If you notice an issue, please do not wait until the October parent-teacher conferences. If it is something that can be addressed now, I would encourage you contacting the teacher so a workable plan can be made before October.
September is full of activities across the school district. As I look at my calendar, I do not see many nights where something is going on around the district. I encourage you to come out and support our students compete and perform. We have great community support and our students, coaches and sponsors appreciate your support! They work hard to show off our Wildcat Pride!
There are many improvements taking place around town. I know the 68/Metcalf intersection is not too much fun now, but it will be awesome when completed! Also, if you haven’t had an opportunity, the city is working on a comprehensive plan that includes new trails and sidewalks. I want every student and family to be safe as they walk/ride to and from school. If you would like to provide any input, please contact Jean Carder at City Hall.
As I stated, I hope the 2017-2018 school year is going well for your family. They say, “it takes a village”, and I am glad that the Louisburg ‘village’ is the village supporting our school district!
