Fourteen Louisburg High School Band members auditioned for the Northeast Kansas All-District Band last Saturday (Nov. 14) in Olathe:  Row 1:  Michael Minster (clarinet), Kyle Green (clarinet), Kennedy Unthank (trombone), Garrett Mills (baritone), and Spencer Rogers (trumpet).  Row 2:  Lexi Shaner (trombone), Aubrey Prettyman (trumpet), Alex Richardson (mallets), and Jennifer Straub (trumpet).  Row 3:  Nathaniel Mason (percussion), Jerod Bond (percussion), Jamie Gates (bass clarinet), Madison Trageser (clarinet), and Daniel Bell (trumpet).

More than one thousand high school students from across northeast Kansas auditioned at Olathe East High School.  Each student performed a prepared piece and a sight-reading selection before a panel of judges.  Minster, Unthank, Rogers, Shaner, Straub, Mason, Bond, and Bell were selected for the All-District Band which will perform on Saturday, December 5.  Mills was chosen as an alternate.  Students performing in the all-district group are eligible to audition for the state band which will perform in Wichita at the end of February.

Lilie Jorgensen, sophomore at LHS, was also selected for the District Choir as a Soprano 1.  She will be representing LHS on December 5th at the District Choir Concert.

Great Job, LHS Band and Choir Members!
