District Policies

  • Familiarize yourself with tornado and fire drill procedures – Crisis Management flipchart, which should be posted nearby on classroom wall.
  • Daily or hourly attendance must be taken.  Check with the front office on attendance policies for each school, also check on HALL PASS policies for each school.
  •  No student is to leave the classroom unless it is authorized.
  •  Do not, under any circumstances, place a student outside the classroom or leave a student or class unsupervised.
  • You are not to leave the building on your planning period. If there is an emergency, check with the principal.
  • Inform the principal of any unusual incidents that occur during the day, especially those which may necessitate a conference with either students or parents.  In the event of any accident or health problem, the school nurse and principal are to be notified.
  • Organize classroom activities and maintain control and discipline that is conducive to a learning environment.
  • Exercise mature judgment that reflects the ethical standards of the teacher profession.
  • Stay until the end of your time, as stated in this handbook.
  • Emergency deviations from the expected times should be discussed with the Building Principal only.
  • DO NOT LEAVE the school grounds until you have followed proper student dismissal procedures.
